Classification of Electric Fields :

• The electric field configuration can be classified into two different ways.

1. Uniform Field
2. Nonuniform Field

1. Uniform Field :

• In a "Uniform Field", the potential is linearly distributed.
• The below figure shows the uniform field is achieved between two electrodes.

2. Nonuniform Field :

• Nonuniform Field configuration can be further divided between weakly and extremely nonuniform fields.
• The figure shows the weakly nonuniform fields between two adjacent spheres.

• The figure shows the extremely nonuniform field between needle-needle electrodes.
